The event was attended by political activists fromChile, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Brazil, and Bolivia as well asrepresentatives from the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) - Mexico’sruling party, and officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in the country.
In his address to the gathering, Vietnamese Ambassadorto Mexico Nguyen Hoanh Nam said President Ho Chi Minh is a hero of nationalliberation hero, a great man of culture, and a model communist who devoted hiswhole life to the national freedom not only of Vietnam but of all suppressedcountries around the world.
Vietnam has organised various activities in June tomark the 110th anniversary of President Ho leaving the country to travel aroundthe world in search of ways to secure national salvation (June 5, 1911-2021),he noted.
The ambassador thanked the administration of MexicoCity for arranging a special place for the statue, expressing the solidarityand friendship between Vietnam and Mexico.
He thanked international friends and lovers of peaceand freedom around the world for their warm sentiments and support for Vietnamin its past struggles for national independence and its ongoing nationalconstruction and development efforts.
For her part, Martha Garcia Alvarado, First Secretaryfor External Relations of Morena, said that Morena and Mexico considerPresident Ho Chi Minh a mirror in the fight for democracy and the interests of thepeople./.
