President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to be closed for maintenance

The Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh and the Monument to War Heroes and Martyrs in Hanoi will be closed to the public from June 11 to August 11 for periodic maintenance this year.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh and the Monument to WarHeroes and Martyrs in Hanoi will be closed to thepublic from June 11 to August 11 for periodic maintenance this year.

Respect-paying activities for President Ho Chi Minh and war heroes will resumeon August 12, announced the mausoleum management board on June 4.

President Ho Chi Minh passed away on September 2, 1969. His body wasembalmed and placed in a glass coffin inside the granite mausoleum.

Themausoleum has become an important landmark of the capital city and is integralto the political and social history of Vietnam./.
