Vientiane (VNA) – Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong, head of the Vietnamese Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission, paid a courtesy call to the Party General Secretary and President of Laos, Bounnhang Vorachith, in Vientiane on May 26.
Vuong, who is also a Secretary of the Party Central Committee, is leading a delegation of the Inspection Commission on an official visit to Laos.
He congratulated Laos on its significant accomplishments over the past four decades, especially during its 30 years of reforms.
He informed the host leader about the outcomes of the talks between the two Parties’ inspection commissions, while voicing delight at their increasingly substantive cooperation which has considerably contributed to the respective countries’ development and defence.
The two commissions will enhance sharing information and experience in inspection, supervision and punishment within the Parties, particularly in preventing corruption, wastefulness, and degradation of ideology, morals and lifestyles in officials and Party members.
They are also boosting joint training for inspection officials and will work together to reform inspection methods so as to help with the two Parties’ self-reinforcement, Vuong noted.
At the meeting, Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith appreciated the outcomes of the commissions’ talks, adding that they should continue close coordination to help protect their respective Parties and regimes, and promote the Parties’ leadership and strength.
He also briefed the Vietnamese guests about his country’s situation and Lao – Vietnamese relations recently.
During their stay in Laos, the Vietnamese delegation met with Politburo member Khamphan Phommathat, a Secretary of the Lao Party Central Committee. They also had a working session with officials of the inspection board in Bolikhamsay province.-VNA
