They included delegations from Champasakprovince led by Secretary of the province Party Committee and Governor BounthongDivisay; Sekong province led by Secretary of the province Party Committee andGovernor Khamphoi Butdavieng, and Salavan province headed by Secretary of the provincialParty Committee and Governor Sisuvan Vongchomsi.
A delegation from the CambodianConsulate General in Pakse led by Consul General Hoy Sopheap and a delegation fromthe Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse led by Bui The Dung also attended theceremony.
Other delegations were fromdepartments and agencies of Champasak, the Vietnamese associations of foursouthern Lao provinces, and Vietnamese firms investing in the south of Laos.
The same day, leaders and formerleaders of Laos expressed their deep sympathies over the death of the Presidentwhile writing in the funeral book opened by the Vietnamese Embassy in Vientiane.
President Quang passed away at10:05am on September 21 in Hanoi at the age of 62.
The two-day state funeral for thePresident began at 7am on September 26 at the National Funeral Hall, at 5 TranThanh Tong, Hanoi.
The memorial service will be heldat 7:30am on September 27 at the National Funeral Hall. The burial ceremonywill take place at 3:30pm on the same day in the President’s hometown in QuangThien commune, Kim Son district, Ninh Binh province.
Respect-paying and memorialceremonies for President Tran Dai Quang are also being held at the Thong NhatHall in Ho Chi Minh City and in village 13, Quang Thien commune, Kim Sondistrict, Ninh Binh province.–VNA
