Moscow (VNA) – TheVietnamese Embassy in Russia held a ceremony on September 26 to pay tribute to PresidentTran Dai Quang.

Delivering a funeral eulogy,Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh recalled the glorious life andrevolutionary career of the President, highlighting that he was a loyal Partymember and a bright example of dedication to the Party and country’srevolutionary cause.

His image will stay forever inthe mind of Vietnamese people and international friends, Manh said.

Writing in the funeral book, theambassador pledged to work to strengthen the comprehensive strategicpartnership with Russia as desired by the President.

Delegations from the RussianMinistry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of EconomicDevelopment, the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association, the Lao and Republic ofKorean embassies, and international friends in Russia also came to theVietnamese Embassy to pay tribute to President Quang.

Russian Deputy Foreign MinisterIgor Morgulov wrote that Russia will always remember President Quang as an enthusiasticsupporter of the traditional friendship and cooperation between the twocountries.

Secretary of the RussianVeterans’ Association Dmitry Voitko also mourned the death of the Vietnameseleader.

Earlier, Chairman of the RussianVeterans’ Association Nikolai Kolesnik also cabled a message of condolence toAmbassador Manh, expressing his regret over the passing of the President, aloyal friend of Russia who contributed to the Vietnam-Russia friendship.

President Quang passed away at10:05am on September 21 in Hanoi at the age of 62.

The state funeral for thePresident began at 7am on September 26 at the National Funeral Hall, 5 TranThanh Tong, Hanoi.

The memorial service will beginat 7:30am on September 27 at the National Funeral Hall. The burial ceremonywill take place from 3:30pm on the same day in the President’s hometown inQuang Thien commune, Kim Son district, Ninh Binh province.

Respect-paying and memorialceremonies for President Tran Dai Quang have also been held at the Thong NhatHall in Ho Chi Minh City and the Hall of the People’s Committee of Kim Sondistrict, Ninh Binh province.

The nation is observing a two-daynational mourning on September 26 and 27.–VNA
