The General Statistics Office’s Department of Population and Labour Statistics reported that in the first nine months of 2018, the number of labourers aged above 15 was estimated at 55.2 million, up 581,500 people from the same period last year.
The outcomes were attributed to effective administrative reform policies and positive impacts of free trade agreements Vietnam has signed.
The labour structure continued to shift towards reducing the labour density in the agro-forestry-fisheries sector and increasing the proportion in the industrial and services sectors.
The General Statistics Office also reported that monthly income of employees was averaged at 5.8 million VND during the January-September period, up 381,000 VND year on year.-VNA
