Acting police chief Omar Mammah said the victims include CaptainSamsul Saguni, 40, and assistant Usman Yunus, 35. Four fishermen were on thefishing vessel when the incident took place, two of them fled.
An initial probe showed that the masked kidnappers werecarrying M16 rifles and believed to be members of KFR rebel force and havelinks with Abu Sayah rebel force.
The police are hunting down for kidnappers.
This is the first kidnapping to take place in Sabah in twoyears.
