Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia said on November 2 that it is willing to cooperate with and help Malaysian fishermen if they face any problems or emergencies in the country’s waters.
Yurson Ambary, a representative from the embassy, stated that the collaboration will cover the handling of threats at sea such as encroachment and piracy.
The embassy will contact relevant authorities to have necessary actions in response to arising problems, he said.
The official also affirmed that the Indonesian side will render necessary assistance just like the Malaysian government helps Indonesian residents, citing the case that Indonesian fishermen were drifting at sea in Malaysian waters on October 22.-VNA
