Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian Coordinating MaritimeAffairs and Investment Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has met with theRepublic of Korea (RoK)'s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister ChooKyung-Ho in Seoul to discuss investment opportunities in electric vehicle (EV)production and tourism.
The two countries are mutually beneficial business partnersthat complement each other, Pandjaitan said in an Instagram post, noting that Indonesia'sabundant natural wealth and large market share for EVs are the future for thedevelopment of the EV industry and its supporting ecosystem.
He held that Korean companies’ investment in building theentire EV production chain in Indonesia would be a promising businessopportunity in the future.
The two sides also talked about the possibility ofimplementing a Visa on Arrival policy for Indonesian citizens, similar to whatIndonesia had obtained from Japan, to ease travel for tourists.
The Indonesian official also expressed enthusiasm for theopportunity to attract more investment from the RoK.
He was in a visit to the RoK to attend a high-level meetingcommemorating 50 years of the countries’ diplomatic relations./.
