The new decree, which was signed off on July 10,allows authorities to cancel the permits to form organisations if the saidgroups violate any regulations in the permits, Security Minister Wiranto saidin a reported released on July 12.
Accordingly, any organisations which are againstPancasila, a set of founding national principles, will be dissolved withouttrial.
The minister added that the decree is aimed atmaintaining national unity in the context that many radical groups arethreatening the existence of the country and creating conflict in the society.
The Indonesian decree was issued when there isan increasing concern about Islamic State (IS) group trying to set up theirbranches in Southeast Asia after failing in Syria and Iraq.-VNA
