Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said on April 11that theculinary industry has huge potential for development and growth during theholy month of Ramadan as Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) have beenlifted.
Culinary industry players can optimise this momentum toincrease the sales of their products. Certainly, innovation, the right targetmarket, good promotion and services will further improve the sales, he said.
Ramadan in Indonesia this year began on March 23 and willlast till the final week of April.
The minister expects the revenue of the culinaryindustry to rise by 35-40% during this year’s fasting month.
The potential revenue in the tourism and creative economysectors, including food, is estimated to reach 100 trillion rupiah (6.7 billionUSD) to 150 trillion rupiah (10.01 billion USD), according to Uno.
This year, the food industry is expected to grow by about 6.25%annually./.
