New Delhi (VNA) – Professor Faisal Ahmed from India’s FORE Schoolof Management has voiced his optimism about the second summit between USPresident Donald Trump and DPRK leader Kim Jong-un which takes place in Hanoion February 27-28.
He told Vietnam News Agency’s correspondents in New Delhi that althoughbreakthroughs are not expected for the second meeting following the first inSingapore, the two sides will outline a detailed roadmap for thedenuclearisation on the Korean Peninsula.
Faisal Ahmed said as the DPRK is advancing towards industrialisation progressand seeking foreign investments, a possible outcome of the summit is anagreement on a roadmap for bilateral economic development and investment.
Additionally, the Hanoi summit’s outcome will contribute to easing tensionbetween the DPRK and the Republic of Korea (RoK) in particular and in theregion in general.
As for Vietnam, the Indian professor said that the Southeast Asian country winsbig from hosting the DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit Vietnam, both in economic benefitsand the nation’s prestige in the international arena, like Singapore did lastyear.
The event will promote Vietnam’s images as a key factor in the Pacific-Asia’ssecurity, he said.-VNA
