Increased State funding for Binh Dinh space science complex

The Prime Minister has approved an increase in State funding for a space science complex in the central coastal province of Binh Dinh, which is expected to cost a total of over 171.1 billion VND (8.1 million USD).
The Prime Minister has approved an increase in State funding for a spacescience complex in the central coastal province of Binh Dinh, which isexpected to cost a total of over 171.1 billion VND (8.1 million USD).

Of the figure, 160 billion USD (7.6 million USD)will now be sourced from the State budget, 60 billion USD (2.85 millionUSD) higher than the original estimate.

TheMinistry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance will beresponsible for ensuring the efficient use of the sum in accordance withthe Law on Public Investment.

Built on Quy Hoabeach in Quy Nhon city, the complex will comprise a planetarium, ascience museum and an astronomical observatory as approved by theprovincial authorities on December 30, 2014.

Milou Architects (France) has been selected as the consultant and designer of the planetarium.

Along with the International Centre of Interdisciplinary ScienceEducation (ICISE), also located in Quy Nhon city, the new project willhelp turn Binh Dinh into a venue for Vietnamese and internationalscientists.-VNA
