The landscape cluster of Hon Yen in the central coastal province of Phu Yen was recognised as a national relic site in April 2018. This is an ideal destination for seeing coral reefs. However, over-exploitation of tourism has harmed the ecosystem in the area.
At low tide, around Hon Yen, there are colourful coral reefs.
Since being recognised as a national scenic spot, Hon Yen has been known by many tourists and chosen as a place for sightseeing and tourism.
Many visitors come here to enjoy the coral reefs and immerse themselves in the extremely rich and unique marine ecosystem.
However, many neglectful visitors have trodden on coral reefs, damaging or killing them.
For Hon Yen to promote its strengths to attract tourists, local authorities are urged to strengthen their management, invest in routes to scenic spots and improve service facilities.-VNA
