Hanoi(VNA) – A software development centre will be developed by ETC TechnologySystems SJC (ETC) at Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park in Hanoi with an investment of nearly1.48 trillion VND (some 65 million USD).
The3.86-hectares Itera software development centre will be built in two phasesfrom 2018 to 2023, featuring zones for R&D activities of general andhi-tech software and centres for product promotion and database.
Once completed,the project is expected to attract about 6,000 IT workers and generate annualrevenue of 1.7 trillion VND (74.8 million USD).
Itera is ahi-tech complex that produces, supplies and promotes the use of hi-techsoftware in both public agencies and private businesses, said ETC Chairman PhamTien Hung at a ceremony on March 27 where the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park managementboard presented an investment approval decision to the company.
The projectwill develop and apply the latest technologies to produce software for bettermanagement in the fields of public management, finance and banking, insurance,transportation and public services, he noted.
It will focusinvestment on artificial intelligence, big data, analysis and forecast,high-performance computing, cloud computing, embedded software, Internet ofThings and others in the era of Industry 4.0. These are technologies Vietnamprioritises to develop following the Prime Minister’s decision dated November25, 2014.
Speaking at theevent, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Dai Duong expected thecentre will provide IT solutions for projects in support of Industry 4.0 andhelp expand the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park’s software zone.
Located inThach That and Quoc Oai districts, the 1,586-hectare Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park hasbeen developed a science city hosting investors in biotechnology, information –communication, new material technology, and automation.
Modern infrastructure is being built at the park using the State budget and theofficial development assistance (ODA) provided by the Japanese government.
As of late 2017, the park had 81 valid investment projects, with a totalregistered capital of over 66 trillion VND (2.9 million USD), on an area of358ha.
Last year, the park attracted many big technological projects, including theHamvha Techwin company’s 200-million-USD Hamvha Aero Engines project.-VNA
