Bangkok (VNA) – Securityforces in southern provinces of Thailand have been vigilant over possibilitiesof increasing violence on the founding day of the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN)rebel group (October 25).
Thai police and soldiers have been placedon alert while control posts were established to conduct examinations of cars passingsouthern cities upon information of car stealing for bomb attacks.
Some bombings took place inNarathiwat province this week, but there were no casualties.
The BRN is a rebel group active inThailand’s southern region. Some members of the group formed the Mara Patanimovement, which has joined peace negotiations with the Thai Government.However, the BRN declared to boycott the negotiations.-VNA
