HCM City (VNA) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front’s (VFF) chapter in HCM City and the Lao Front for National Construction’s ( LFNC ) chapter in Vientiane should strengthen links, towards promoting their future development, said Chairwoman of the city’s People’s Council Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam.

During her reception for the visiting Chairman of the LFNC ’s Vientiane chapter Bounthieng Khounsy in HCM City on July 8, Tam expressed her joy at the close bond between the VFF and its Lao counterpart, as well as between HCM City and Vientiane.

She said stronger cooperation between the two chapters in the future will help consolidate the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Bounthieng Khounsy thanked the municipal authorities for their support for Vientiane.

He said his visit and the signing of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the LFNC ’s Vientiane chapter and its HCM City counterpart will contribute to deepening ties between the two countries in general and the two fronts in particular.

He also hoped businesses and investors of the two nations will enjoy further cooperation in the future.

The memorandum of understanding on cooperation signed between the VFF’s HCM City chapter and its Vientiane counterpart focused on expanding people-to-people diplomacy and experience sharing in economic, cultural and social affairs.-VNA
