HCMCity (VNA) – Police of Binh Tan district in Ho Chi Minh City on June18 began criminal proceedings against a man and a woman for “resisting on-dutyofficers.”
Theyare Pham Thi Thu Thuy, born in 1974, from the Mekong Delta province of TienGiang, and Le Trong Nghia, born in 1987, from the Mekong Delta province of LongAn. Both are workers of Pou Yuen Vietnam Co., Ltd.
On June11, Thuy and Nghia joined crowds in the company to throw rocks to on-duty mobilepolice. The workers confessed that they took the action following otherswithout knowing the reasons. At the investigation agency, both showedrepentance.
Localpolice have also interrogated 30-year-old Le Van Thanh from Tien Giangprovince. Earlier, Thanh gave himself up to the police, confessing that he had brokensteel pipes and delivered them to other workers to attack mobile police.
Policein Ho Chi Minh City has launched criminal proceedings against and issued administrativepunishments on 58 people. Others were allowed to go home with guarantors fromtheir families and commitments not to repeating the wrongdoings.-VNA
