The event held in the pedestrian zone around the Hoan Kiem lake aims to promotecultural exchanges, honour cultural heritage, and ramp up tourism promotionactivities, Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Centre forInvestment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, told at a press conference last week.
With 150 booths displaying products from nearly 100 travel businesses,including Vietnam Airlines and Vietravel, it is hoped that these will serve asa magnet to attract visitors.
Travel firms will launch a range of stimulus programmes, along with organisingmini-game shows to attract visitors.
Most notably, products of the capital’s craft villages such as Bat Trang, VanPhuc, and Duong Lam will be showcased as part of the festival.
Special tours aimed to explore heritage sites throughout Hanoi including Co Loacitadel, Thang Long imperial citadel, and Vinh Nghiem pagoda will also beintroduced to visitors.
Within the event’s framework, a conference on how to develop heritage tourismproducts will be held on March 23. In addition, a cyclo parade to re-enact thetraditional wedding of Hanoians will be held on March 25./.
