The Đuống River Surface Water Plant, the largest water supply project in northern Vietnam, is speeding up the construction of all work items to inaugurate the plant in time for the anniversary of Hanoi’s liberation day.
Three water transmission pipelines were successfully launched into the Duong River in Hanoi’s Gia Lam district during the weekends.
This is one of the most important works of Phase 1 of the Duong River Surface Water Plant project, the largest and most ambitious clean water supply project for the whole northern region of Vietnam.
The pipelines are constructed using the river-crossing sinking technology which is highly complicated and this is the first time such a method has been applied for a large construction project in Vietnam.
After the launch of the pipelines, the construction progress of other works under the project will be sped up to be ready in time for the anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day - October 10.
Once operational, the plant is expected to supply water to at least one-third of Hanoi’s population./.
