Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen DucChung received Dutch Ambassador to Vietnam Elsbeth Akkerman on January 25,during which they discussed measures to enhance bilateral cooperation inhandling urban waste and turning it into a source of energy.
The Dutch diplomat thanked Hanoiauthorities for their timely and much-needed coordination with the Dutch embassyover the past.
She said that the Dutch Development BankFMO had agreed to fund a project on turning waste into energy in Vietnam andhoped that Hanoi would grant it an investment licence.
For his part, Chung voiced his wishes thatHanoi and the Netherlands will continue expanding collaboration in fields thatthe latter holds strength in, such as renewable energy, smart city building,trade, and food processing.
He also affirmed his backing for theproject on turning waste into energy, adding that it will be carried out oncethe Dutch group can prove its investment capital. –VNA
