Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi police stand ready toensure absolute security for the upcoming second summit between the DemocraticPeople’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the US, which will take place on February27-28, stated a local officer on February 22.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Long at the municipalPolice Department further said that all security measures will be taken at thehighest level, with thousands of officers already deployed.
A representative of the department’s transport police officesaid the unit has mobilized 100 percent of its personnel, or over 1,000officers, for the occasion. Working teams will guard more than 300 junctions toprevent congestions, while 30 police vehicles will be in charge of clearing theroad and guiding participating delegations to their destinations.
The Noi Bai police station in Soc Son district, where theNoi Bai International Airport is located, said it has held several meetingswith the Noi Bai International Airport Authority and the Hanoi PoliceDepartment on coordinating security missions serving the summit.
Earlier, the Hanoi police have built a security plan for theevent, which orders 96 teams to patrol overnight and monitor the capital between11pm and 5am. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Security has deployed additional1,000 officers to support the department on the occasion.-VNA
