Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Pham BinhMinh on February 22 chaired a meeting to review the preparations for theDPRK-USA Hanoi Summit Vietnam which is slated for February 27-28.

The meeting was attended by representatives of theGovernment Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of PublicSecurity, the Ministry of Defence, Hanoi authorities and other relevantagencies.

Deputy PM Minh assessed that the setting up of security,facility and logistics as well as the media centre to serve the meeting hasbeen implemented promptly with the close coordination of relevant ministriesand sectors.

He hailed efforts of ministries, sectors and agencies in thework, asking them to continue strictly realizing the directions by PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc during the meeting on February 19.

The Deputy PM affirmed that the second DPRK-USA summit to beheld in Vietnam is the among most significant events of the country in 2019,showing that Vietnam is a reliable friend and partner of the internationalcommunity, and reflecting the active and responsible contributions of Vietnam tointernational and global issues.

The event is a chance to introduce to international friendsthe image of the Vietnamese nation and people as well as Hanoi as a city ofpeace and a favourable destination for investment, trade and tourism withdiverse cultural colours and strong Vietnamese cultural identity, he added.

Noting that there are only a few days away from the summit,he asked agencies to promptly complete the preparations with focus on securityand safety, ensuring utmost convenience for the meeting.

The Deputy PM also underlined the need to create optimalconditions for foreign reporters to cover the event andrelated activities in Vietnam.-VNA
