Ha Long turns fishing village into tourist site

Ha Long city, home to the UNESCO-recognised world heritage site Ha Long Bay, has recently launched a new tourism product, introducing a model combining sustainable aquaculture and responsible tourism on Ha Long Bay.

This is a contract signing ceremony for the use of floating houses and water surface for 13 fishing households in Vung Vieng fishing village. The signing is part of a sustainable aquaculture project combined with responsible tourism on the Ha Long Bay.

The project is funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and carried out by the Centre for Marinelife Conservation and Community Development and several other partners.

If the model continues to be successful, Ha Long will expand it to Cua Van Bay.-VNA
