Government, NA leaders highlight importance of education

 Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly deputies who are teachers and former teachersgathered at a meeting in Hanoi on November 17 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20).

The event was attendedby Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, amongothers.

Addressing thefunction, PM Phuc emphasised the important role played by education and trainingas well as teachers in national development, especially during the cause ofindustrialisation, modernisation and international integration.

He urged teachers tomake more thorough preparations to contribute to national construction anddevelopment in the context of the fourth industrial revolution.

The PM’s views were echoed by NA Chairwoman Ngan who noted that the Party andState have always given top priority to education and the NA is responsible forcompleting a legal framework on education and training.

She laudedcontributions made by NA deputies who are teachers and former teachers to finalisingthe legal system in general and laws on education and training inparticular.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
