As many as 160 teachers across the country were honoured at a ceremonyin Hanoi on November 17 for their outstanding performance in patrioticand educational campaigns launched by the education sector over the pastfive years (2008-2013).
Addressing the event, President ofthe Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhanextended his best wishes to the teachers on the occasion of theVietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20).
The Party andGovernment always consider teachers key and decisive in the country’seducation and training cause, he said.
The VFF leaderpraised the sector’s significant and positive contributions tointellectual standards, human resource development, socio-economicgrowth, political security and international integration.
Among the awardees were teachers from remote, border and island areas,who have overcome various difficulties to bring knowledge to theirstudents.
At the ceremony, which was held by the Ministry ofEducation and Training, many exchanged their viewpoints on salaries andsocial security received by teachers, especially those working atpre-schools and universities.-VNA
