HCM City (VNA) – Devotion from doctors and hospital staff is good medicinefor patients, who have to spend their Lunar New Year festival (Tet) inhospital, said Vo Van Thuong, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commissionfor Information and Education.
Thuong madethe statement on January 22 during a visit to Ho Chi Minh City’s Cho Rayhospital, which will accommodate up to 1,700 people during Tet.
He said heexpects Cho Ray to boost research activities, create more favourable conditonsfor patients and improve infrastructure.
The sameday, Thuong extended his New Year greetings at the headquarters of Ho Chi Minh Television(HTV).
He said HTVhas grown from municipal scale to become a broadcaster for the whole southernregion.
He urgedthe media agency to invest in new technologies and broadcast content to meet audience’sdemand.
Also onJanuary 22, a delegation from the Steering Committee for Northwest Region, ledby its deputy head Hau A Lenh, visited Sapa district in Lao Cai.
Thedelegation presented 675 gifts, worth 400,000 VND (17.7 USD) each, to poorhouseholds, as well as 75 blankets and 20 boxes of confectionery and clothes topupils of Suoi Thau secondary school.
The giftswere donated through a charity programme ran by the committee. -VNA
