BinhThuan (VNA) – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)Central Committee Do Van Chien visited and sent Christmas greetings to theEpiscopal Palace of Phan Thiet Diocese in Phan Thiet city, the central provinceof Binh Thuan, on December 16.

Chien,who is also Secretary of the Party Central Committee, wished Bishop Joseph DoManh Hung, priests, monks, nuns, and the entire Catholic community a merry Christmas,good health, and a new year full of good lucks and achievements.

Hehighly valued the enormous contributions by the Episcopal Palace of Phan ThietDiocese, priests, and Catholic followers to the local socio-economic developmentand the great national solidarity bloc, including in the COVID-19 combat andenvironmental protection.

The official expressed his hope that the bishop, other dignitaries, andfollowers in the diocese will continue joining hands with the localadministration, other religions, and people from all social strata to activelysupport patriotic emulation movements, thereby helping with the socio-economicdevelopment, political stability, and defence - security safeguarding.

At the meeting, Bishop Joseph Hung spoke highly of the Party, State, andauthorities’ attention to Christmas – a major holiday of the Catholic community,noting that the Party, State, and all-level authorities have always createdfavourable conditions for the Episcopal Palace of Phan Thiet Diocese to performduties and develop.

Voicinghis delight at the achievements in COVID-19 prevention and control, he said thecommunity is still taking anti-pandemic measures as instructed by the localadministration to ensure health safety for all people.

Inthe time ahead, the Episcopal Palace will keep supporting patriotic emulation campaignsand movements, especially practical activities such as environmentalprotection, he noted./.
