Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has assigned four new Deputy Ministers of National Defence.
The appointees include Deputy Chiefs of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Le Chiem and Be Xuan Truong, both of whom are Lieutenant Generals.
Prior to the assignment, Lt Gen. Vo Trong Viet was the Commander of the Border Guard Force and Lt Gen. Tran Don was the Commander of Military Region 7.
The newly accredited Deputy Ministers are also members of the Central Party Committee.
The incumbent Minister of National Defence is General Phung Quang Thanh. His Deputies include Senior Lieutenant Generals Do Ba Ty, Nguyen Thanh Cung, Truong Quang Khanh, Nguyen Chi Vinh, Le Huu Duc and Nguyen Van Hien.-VNA
