Military, police officers get promotion

President Truong Tan Sang presented promotion decisions to nine high-ranking military and police officers.
President Truong Tan Sang presented promotion decisions to ninehigh-ranking military and police officers at a ceremony in Hanoi onDecember 5.

Eight officers were promoted to Senior LieutenantGeneral rank. They are Tran Dai Quang, Minister of Public Security; DangVan Hieu, Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security; Ngo Xuan Lich,Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’sArmy; Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army;and Deputy Ministers of National Defence Nguyen Thanh Cung, TruongQuang Khanh, Nguyen Chi Vinh and Le Huu Duc.

Deputy Minister of National Defence and Chief of the Navy Nguyen Van Hien was promoted to Admiral rank.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Sang said the promotion representsthe acknowledgement of the Party, State and people for the contributionsand advancement of each officer in particular and the people’s armedforces in general.

He asked the promoted officers to furtherheighten their political perception, revolutionary morals andprofessional knowledge to excellently accomplish all tasks entrusted bythe Party and State./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
