Hanoi (VNA) – The Asia Infrastructure Forum took placein Singapore on October 2 – 3, with over 800 local and regional policymakers,investors and representatives from infrastructure companies discussing measuresto meet the growing regional infrastructure needs.
The two-day forum was organised by Infrastructure Asia (IA),which was established by Enterprise Singapore and Monetary Authority ofSingapore to support infrastructure financing and development in the region.
Speaking at the event, IA Executive Director Seth Tan notedthat his department is strengthening the work with stakeholders across theinfrastructure ecosystem to match the demand and supply in Asia's infrastructuredevelopment.
At the forum’s session on infrastructure market place, LimChze Cheen, head of ASEAN connectivity division, listed five strategic areas ofthe Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025, namely sustainable infrastructure,digital innovation, seamless logistics, regulatory excellence and peoplemobility.
According to him, ASEAN has identified Initial Pipelinepriority projects with regional connectivity impact, while conductingpre-feasibility studies and developing a financing options analysis for them.
These projects are to focus on strengthening regionalconnectivity, bringing economic and social benefits, and addressingsustainability and viability, he added./.
