Thenon-governmental institute is designed to perform science andtechnology-related tasks while expanding cooperation with other similarfacilities both within and outside the country with the support of theGovernment and other social organisations.
Mainobjectives of the institute include researching, designing,manufacturing, experimenting and producing advanced and applicabletechnology products serving socio-economic development as well assecurity and defence.
The institute is also incharge of training hi-tech scientists to play a central role in boostingthe country’s science and technology growth.
Thefacility will consist of centres for plasma and metallurgy, materials,optoelectronics and control, biology, medicine and environment, togetherwith a technology university, an export processing zone, a specialistzone and a trade and service company.
Theestablishment of the institute is scheduled to span five years andinvestment for the project will be mobilised from 2016.
Currently, a number of Russian senior specialists are prepared to workpart-time or full-time for the institute. The institute is also callingfor overseas and foreign scientists from all around the world.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to locate the facility in TamThanh commune in Tam Ky city. The provincial leaders vowed to createfavourable conditions for the construction and operation of theinstitute while proposing ministries and central agencies design supportpolicies for investments in the project.-VNA
