Phnom Penh (VNA) – A Cambodia-Russia Cultural Week has been held in Phnom Penh for the first time to strengthen friendship and cultural exchange between the two countries, according to Cambodian News Agency (AKP).
Addressing to the opening ceremony held at Chaktomuk Conference Hall last week, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Phoeurng Sackona said that performances of Russian artists will further tighten the relationship between Cambodia and Russia that mark this year the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
The Cambodia-Russia Cultural Week was featured by traditional dances, music, circus, screening of films by Russian producers and Cambodian students who have been trained in Russia, photo exhibition, and so on.
So far, Cambodia and Russia have chosen the Phnom Penh-based Russian Centre for Science and Culture to create cultural programmes and to gather students for cultural activities, AKP said./.
