Cambodia, Russia increase bilateral cooperation

Cambodia and Russia on April 2 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which aims to promote bilateral cooperation in all fields, particularly economics, tourism and education, according to news reports.

The deal was inked between Secretary ofState of Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and InternationalCooperation Sun Saphoeun and Head of Russian Federal Agency for TourismAlexander Radkov at the 7th session of the intergovernmental Cambodia-Russia Commission for trade, economic, scientific and technicalcooperation.

Under the MoU, Russia will considerincreasing the number of scholarships for Cambodian students, accordingto the Cambodian secretary.

At a meeting on the sameday between Alexander Radkov and host Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Hor Namhong, the two sides pledged to intensify cooperation intrade, investment and tourism for mutual benefits.-VNA

Indonesia begins major oil, gas exploration in Sulawesi

Indonesia's state-owned oil company Pertamina, along with foreign partners Sinopec from China and Kuwait’s Kufpec, has signed a contract to explore the Melati oil and gas block, located off the coast of Sulawesi. The block is estimated to contain trillions of cubic feet of gas reserves.
