Hanoi (VNA) –The first sport festival of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) in the Netherlands opened in the capital city of Amsterdam on July 1,drawing hundreds of students from ASEAN member countries.
The event was organisedby students associations of Vietnam and other ASEAN countries in theNetherlands, under the sponsorship of ASEAN embassies in the country.
Addressing the event,Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Ngo Thi Hoa said as one of activitiesto celebrate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN, the sport festival hopes to bolsterconnectivity and people-to-people exchange among ASEAN member nations.
The festival comprisesmini football, badminton, running competitions and a combined event. Vietnamesetraditional dishes were also served during the event.-VNA
