In the first half of 2018, while probing into adrug case, Hechi police discovered that the case involved a ring traffickingdrug from China-Vietnam border areas to Xuanzhou district.
After over four months of investigation, theysuccessfully cracked down on this gang, arresting 11 suspects and seizing over10kg of drug.
This is one of the many transnational drugtrafficking cases that Guangxi police have busted since the year’s beginning.
Over the past years, China and Vietnam have setup a joint action mechanism to fight drug crimes in border areas and enhancecooperation in this field.
In the first six months of 2018, in the jointcombat against drug crimes along the countries’ borderline, China uncovered 420cases relating to Vietnam, including 22 involving Vietnamese nationals.
Vietnam and China has a total border length ofalmost 1,450 km, including 1,065.6 km on land and 383.9 km on water. Ittraverses seven Vietnamese provinces (Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang,Cao Bang, Lang Son, and Quang Ninh) and China’s Yunnan province and GuangxiZhuang Autonomous Region.-VNA
