With a view to improving education quality, as well as developing high-quality human resources in natural sciences, Hanoi University of Science under Vietnam National University on March 16 held a seminar in Hanoi to connect former students and recruiters within the field.
At the seminar, formers students and recruiters discussed challenges facing natural science education in Vietnam, including difficulties in attracting students due to the dominance of social sciences and economics given global integration.
A majority of participants agreed that lack of soft skills and limited capacity in foreign languages have held back natural science students from getting hired and promoted.
Through the event, recruiters also voiced their requirements on candidates, from which the school can adjust their curriculum towards more practical education, ensuring the quality of personnel in natural sciences.-VNA
