Vice Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea of DPRK Ri Su-yong shows his interest in Vietnam's farming techniques applied in the cultivation of food crops.(Source: VNA)Hanoi (VNA) - A high-ranking delegation of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) of theDemocratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) led by its Vice Chairman RiSu-yong on February 28 visited the Vietnam Agriculture ScienceInstitute in Hanoi.
The delegation was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural DevelopmentLe Quoc Doanh; Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu; and Directorof the Vietnam Agriculture ScienceInstitute Nguyen Hong Son.
During the working session, Son briefed his guests on agricultural products of Vietnam’sstrength.
He said that this is a good chance for the two sides to share information, thusenhancing cooperation on science and technology in the agricultural field,towards promoting solidarity, friendship and cooperation in scientific researchand economic development.
For his part, Ri showed his interestin Vietnam's farming techniques applied in the cultivation of food crops such asrice, corn and potato.
He expressed his hope that Vietnam will further support his country in developinghigh-yielding rice varieties.
Deputy Minister Doanh said Vietnam looks forward to welcoming more DPRK scientiststo Vietnam for research, thus strengthening the friendship between the twocountries.
As scheduled, the delegation will visit the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) and the Dan Hoai Cooperative in Dan Phuong district on the same day’s afternoon as partactivities of its working programme in Vietnam.-VNA
