Dong Nai(VNA) – The southern province of Dong Nai has recorded impressive achievementsin administrative reform, as demonstrated through its high ranking in the PublicAdministration Reform (PAR) Index through years.
Since 2014, thelocality has been among the top five localities in PAR Index. In 2014, itranked fourth among 63 cities and provinces in the field, third position in2015, fourth in 2016 and third in 2017.
According to theprovincial Party Committee, the high ranking is attributed to the province’sefforts in seeking new methods of strengthening administrative reform,including the establishment of a public administrative centre, the launching ofa hotline, and the model of non-geographic administration.
Besides, the localityhas promoted the application of information technology in processingadministrative procedures, which helped Dong Nai improve its businessenvironment, enhance competitiveness as well as the satisfaction of locals andenterprises.
Currently, theprovince has standardised administrative procedures of all sectors, with 1,689procedures applied at three administrative levels, including 1,348 proceduresat provincial level, 244 at district level and 97 at communal level. All ofthem have been made public on local authorities’ websites.
Since May 2017, DongNai has launched its public administrative centre, which has dealt with 117,000dossiers in one first year, with on-time percentage reaching 96.6 percent.Surveys showed that 99.8 percent of locals were satisfied with public services.
Together with the PARIndex, Dong Nai’s provincial competitiveness index (PCI) has also beenimproved. In 2014, it only ranked 43rd out of 63 localities in thefield, but it jumped to 37th position in 2015, 34th in 2016and 26th in 2017.
Thanks to shorter timeand cost for administrative procedures, the business environment of Dong Naihas become smoother and more transparent.
Tran Van Vinh, ViceChairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai said that in 2018 and followingyears, Dong Nai has defined administrative reform as a major task, aiming tocreate more favourable conditions for locals and enterprises.-VNA
