Of the 120 foreign-invested projects, 66 were licensed witha combined capital of 474 million USD while 54 others registered additionalcapital of 504 million USD.
The provincial management board for industrial zones said thenew FDI projects over the first seven months were mostly in the industrialparks of Nhon Trach, with 18 projects worth 85 million USD; Giang Dien, with fourprojects worth 60.5 million USD; Loc An-Binh Son, with eight projects valued at79.4 million USD; and Long Duc, with four projects worth 64.2 million USD.
The majority of the newly-licensed projects are in high-techand support industries and make use of eco-friendly technologies. Of them, 32projects are in the support industry for mechanical engineering andelectronics, accounting for around 60 percent of the total. Others are in thefields of chemicals, plastic manufacturing, and real estate.
Outstanding names include the Republic of Korea’s (RoK) HiKnit Ltd, the Netherlands-based Air Manufacturing Innovation Vietnam Ltd,Japanese-Cantonese joint-venture Long Duc Wonderful Sun-S Electronics, Japan’sKolmar Vietnam Ltd, Singapore’s Logistics Property Vietnam Ltd, and Japan’sVietnam Nisshin Technomic Ltd.
According to the department, as of July 18, the province recorded 1,820 FDI projects worth 32.8billion USD, 1,339 of which were valid with a total capital of 27.73 billionUSD.
The foreign investors were from 45 countries and territoriesworldwide, with the RoK, Taiwan, and Japan taking the lead. -VNA
