A tour to explore VanMieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) in Hanoi at night was piloted onOctober 22 with the participation of many travel agencies.
The project aims to promote the unique value of the specialnational relic site Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, towards attracting more visitorsto the site at night, and diversifying tourism products in Hanoi.
This would be the fourth night tour in Hanoi. The first threeare tours of the Hoa Lo Prison Relic Site, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and theVietnam Museum of Literature.
The tour's organiser wants to offer a unique and differentexperience for tourists by using modern 3D mapping technology, which displaysvivid images to tell different stories about Confucianism and the country’shistory and sages.
Iconic structures within the site, such as Khue Van Cac(the pavilion of the constellation of literature), Vuon bia Tien si (Gardenof doctoral steles) and Thien Quang well are effectively utilised to express the value and significance of study.
Besides, a night tour of the Old Quarter will be launched by the municipalDepartment of Tourism on October 28-29, offering visitors an opportunity toenjoy a dazzling light feast, a stellar traditional musical performance, and atea culture space.
According to Deputy Director of the department Tran Trung Hieu, the tour isexpected to bring a new experience to visitors, helping improve the attractivenessof the capital city’s tourism.
InHo Chi Minh City, the night tour “the moon above the resistance zone” has beenrecently introduced, giving visitors a deeper insight into the life in the resistancezone where locals dig the tunnels, knitted bamboo and rattan products and pound therice grains, while the youth voluntarily registered for military service.
Meanwhile, the northern mountainous province of Son La organised its firstcoffee festival and set up a tour for coffee lovers with a view to branchingout its coffee brand in tandem with tourism development.
While in Lao Cai, an array of tours have been developed to take visitors to thebest places for cloud hunting, terrific terraced rice fields, and tranquilvillages to discover diverse indigenous cultures.
Atthe same time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the southcentral province of Binh Thuan organised a kite flying festival in response tothe Visit Vietnam Year 2023 themed “Binh Thuan – Green Convergence”.
The event created a playground for kite lovers across the nation, then drew theattention of locals and businesses.
Experts said although it is necessary for localities to develop their owntourism products, they should work together to form complete tours, helpingincrease regional tourism competitiveness.
A cooperation mechanism should be outlined, in which promotional pricing andtime as well as measures to ensure service quality are clarified.
Besidescapitalising on local resources, applying preferential policies is seen as a goodmeasure to boost tourism during the off-peak time, they said./.
