Lam Dong (VNA)– The resort city of Da Lat, a popular destination in the Central Highlandprovince of Lam Dong, greeted 58,000 tourists during the Liberation of theSouth and National Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labour Day(May 1).
Though the figureshowed a year-on-year decline of 35 percent, it was a good sign after the prolongedCOVID-19 outbreak, according to local authorities.
The total included 1,300international visitors.
Since the Governmenteased social distancing, local tourist sites have been re-opened toholidaymakers.
Most vacationers wereaware of preventive measures and wore face masks while keeping a minimumphysical distance.
Vice Chairwoman of theDa Lat People’s Committee Tran Thi Vu Loan said the city has requested travelagencies to fully implement preventive measures.
Famous for its mildclimate all year round, Da Lat has two distinct seasons, the rainy and thesunny season. The rainy season usually begins in May and finishes in October.
It is also well-knownfor its beautiful French colonial architecture, such as King Bao Dai’s Palace,Ngo Dinh Diem and Nguyen Cao Ky’s villas, and the Hang Nga villas./.
