Maputo (VNA) – The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) will continue strengtheningsolidarity and traditional friendship with the Mozambique Liberation Front(FRELIMO) Party and promoting cooperation between the two countries, aVietnamese official has said.

Chau Van Lam, memberof the CPV Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee ofTuyen Quang province, delivered the message at the 11th National Congress ofthe FRELIMO Party in Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique, during his visitfrom September 24-27.

Lam said the CPV andVietnamese people are grateful to the FRELIMO Party, progressive forces andpeople of Mozambique for their support for the country’s struggle for nationalliberation in the past and development at present.

He lauded theachievements made by the African country over the past 42 years, saying thatunder the leadership of the FRELIMO Party, the Mozambican people have overcome manydifficulties since the People’s Republic of Mozambique was founded on June 25,1975.

The Vietnamese officialexpressed his belief that with resolutions adopted by the Congress, the FRELIMOParty and Mozambican people will reap greater successes in national development.

At a reception forthe Vietnamese official, FRELIMO Party Secretary General Eliseu Machava spokehighly of the achievements obtained by the CPV and Vietnamese people over morethan 30 years of reform, considering those a source of encouragement.

He expressed his wishto boost relations between the two parties, thus laying a foundation forstrengthening collaboration between the two governments and people.

Lam, for his part,expressed his delight at the success of the Vietnamese telecom providerViettel’s joint venture Movitel, saying that it is a testament to Vietnam’sinvestment efficiency in the country.

He wished that theFRELIMO Party’s 11th Congress would be successful and cooperative ties betweenthe two parties will further grow.

On the occasion,the Vietnamese delegation met foreign delegates to the congress, attended theVietnam-Mozambique business forum and visited cultural establishments inMaputo.-VNA
