Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to establish aState-level medical scientific council in charge of the assessment of theembalmed body of late President Ho Chi Minh.
Amongthe 11 members of the council are four Russian scientists, who are working atthe Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian presidential office’s hospital andRussian scientific research institutes.
Apartfrom examining the President’s body which has been preserved over the past 50years, the council will propose orientations and plans for researchcooperation, and scientific and technical solutions in service of the work
After his death on September 2, 1969, thePresident was embalmed and later placed for viewing at the Ho Chi MinhMausoleum. The mausoleum was built in two years from 1973 to 1975, withmaterials donated by people from all over the country.
The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is an importantlandmark of the capital city and is integral to the political and socialhistory of Vietnam. -VNA
