Hanoi (VNA) - Canadian PrimeMinister Justin Trudeau arrived in Hanoi on November 8 to start his two-dayofficial visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
The visit takes place at a time when Vietnam –Canada relations are growing robustly and producing mutual benefits acrosssectors.
In September 2014, the Vietnamese and Canadianministers of foreign affairs signed a letter of intent on boosting bilateralrelations. In July 2017, their first political consultation atdeputy-foreign-minister level was held in Canada.
Vietnam is currently Canada’s biggest tradepartner in Southeast Asia and a prioritised market in Canada's Global MarketsAction Plan. Bilateral trade in recent years grew about 20 – 25 percent onaverage, hitting 4.1 billion USD in 2016 and 2.34 billion USD in the firsteight months of 2017.-VNA
