Binh Duong (VNA)– About 130 officials, scientists and businesspeople from Daejeon city of the Republic of Korea (RoK) will attend the 11th General Assembly of the World Technopolis Association (WTA) slatedfor October 10-12 in the southern province of Binh Duong.
Theinformation was released by Daejeon’s Vice Mayor Lee Taek Ku during hisworking session with Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Duongprovince Mai Hung Dung on October 4.
Lee suggested Daejeon andBinh Duong step up cooperation in health care and science-technology,especially medical tourism, and the transfer of science and technology inhealth care.
For his part, Dung saidBinh Duong has made great progress in socio-economic development and smart citybuilding.
Binh Duong and Daejeonhave launched many cooperation programmes in education, culture and socialaffairs, he said, noting that a large number of RoK businesses have increasedtheir investment in the province.
Dung thanked the Daejeon delegation for their support to Binh Duong in hostingthe WTA 2018.
During his meeting with a delegation of the urban promotion anddevelopment association of Japan’s Aichi prefecture the same day, Dung expressedhis hope that there will be more Japanese investors coming to Binh Duong,especially in urban development and services.
Binh Dong will build new urban areas towards civilization andmodernity, and zone off land for public establishments and green urban space,aiming to become the first-tier urban area.
Yamamoto Daisuke, who led the Japanese delegation, lauded the socio-economicdevelopment in Binh Duong in general and its urban development efforts inparticular.
He congratulated Binh Duong on its official membership of the WTA.
The WTA gathers 106 members from 48 countries and territoriesworldwide, including five from Southeast Asia – Vietnam, Indonesia, thePhilippines, Malaysia and Cambodia.-VNA
