Travel firms in Ho Chi Minh City are offering a wide range of outbound and domestic tours including to many new destinations with attractive promotions during the upcoming summer holiday.

HCM City (VNA) - Travel firms in Ho ChiMinh City are offering a wide range of outbound and domestic tours including tomany new destinations with attractive promotions during the upcoming summer holiday.

Vietravel is focusing on tours to beaches andislands in the country and abroad, which are expected to be very popular thissummer.

The firm expects to serve 300,000 customers, ayear-on-year increase of 15 percent, Vietravel Deputy General Director TranDoan The Duy said.

Around 30,000 free & easy tours would besold to meet the rising demand during the summer holidays, hesaid.   

Tours to stunning beaches in the central citiesof Nha Trang and Da Nang and provinces of Binh Dinh and Phu Yen and islandtours to Phu Quoc and Con Dao are expected to be very popular.

Despite the rise in oil prices and air fares,tour prices are steady since the firm made plans at the end of last year toensure good prices for customers, he said.

Booking early could fetch a 20 percent discount,he added.

Saigontourist offers discounts on three-day tourpackages to Phu Quoc Island that cost only 3.57 million VND (156 USD).

The firm offers a 5 percent discount for bookingtwo months prior to departure and 7 percent discount for group bookings forfour guests or more.

Tran Thi Bao Thu, marketing and communicationsdirector of Fiditour, said the demand for free & easy tours has risenstrongly among young travellers and overseas Vietnamese visiting the countryduring the holidays.

The free & easy tours are designed for smallgroup of tourists and individuals who prefer to make their own schedules andservices. 

Outbound tours to Northeast Asian destinationssuch as the Republic of Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and China are popular, accordingto travel firms.-VNA
