The annual event is intended to honour outstandingworks as well as the devotion by VNA journalists.
There were seven first prizes, 15 second prizes, 22third prizes and 27 consolation prizes in different categories, along with seven extra prizes. The works gave insight into socio-economic-political affairs inVietnam, as well as important events of the country last year, issues of publicconcern, and the friendship between Vietnam and other countries.
This year’s awards marked a milestone in thetransformation of the VNA to catch up with development requirements of both domesticand global media, while contributing to maintaining and affirming its positionas a leading media agency, which is looking towards a key national multi-media agency.
In her remarks, VNA General Director Vu Viet Tranglauded efforts and innovations by the winners to produce such quality works,helping affirm the VNA’s role in the domestic press circle and the award’sreputation.
VNA journalists have been present in all fronts, stoodready to come to natural disaster-hit areas, and accompanied ministries,agencies, localities and people in the enforcement of policies, she continued.
Trang expressed her hope that the journalists will makebetter performance in their work amid the new development period of the countryand the world at large.
