Accordingto head of the Crime Unit of Indonesian National Police Senior Commissioner AriDono Sukmanto, ASEAN member nations agreed to set up the electronic Aseanapoldatabase system (e-ADS) to support the fight against terrorists andtransnational crimes.
Theofficer, who is attending the 37th Aseanapol conference in Singapore, said theplan to establish the system aims to facilitate exchanges of intelligenceinformation quickly, safely and accurately, especially in the context ofsuicide attacks and radicalism as well as other transnational crimes becomingmajor challenges for law enforcers in the region.
Sophisticatedinformation technology in the form of e-ADS is one of the solutions for thechallenges, he noted.-VNA
