This is Modi's first bilateral visit to India’s eastern borderingcountry. Earlier, in 2014 he was Myanmar in 2014 for the ASEAN Summit.
He is scheduled to meet Myanmar President Htin Kyaw, and StateCounsellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Aung San Suu Kyi.
The leaders will review the development of India-Myanmarbilateral relations and explore new areas, in which both the nations can worktogether.
They will also review the extensive programme of developmentcooperation and socio-economic assistance that India is undertaking in Myanmar.-VNA
